Trophy rainbow trout from alpine Slovenia
Alpine Slovenia is rich with numbers of interesting fly fishing districts – brooks, rivers and still waters. One of the best still waters for fly fishing is the reservoir Moste. Gin clear waters of Sava Dolinka flow from the northern peaks of Julian Alps and form a large man made lake near town of Jesenice.
Lake is full of large rainbow trout, brown trout and chub are also frequent there. First stretches of the district are suitable for fishing from the shore, the majority of the area is best fished from the belly boat. Fish are large and very very strong, so we highly recommend using long backing.
The fish above was 76 cm long and was immediately released after the photo has been taken.
For fishing in this district you only need a valid fishing licence. You can buy it HERE. Tight lines!
